A Little Bit About Timesavers Inc.
Timesavers, a pioneer in sanding technology began in 1946 in Robbinsdale, Minnesota. In 70 years, they have engineered machines that can sand any material from wood or metal, to rubber, laminates, vinyl, and plastics.
With over 50,000 machines in use across the country, Timsavers claims to deliver the “Finest Finish in the World.”
What is a Wide Belt Sander?
A belt sander is a machine with a motor that drives several spindles which rotate a large belt of sandpaper. It is used to shape, sand, and finish a variety of materials – in our case, that material is wood.
A wide belt sander is such a machine, but possesses one unique characteristic. It uses a very wide belt. The wide belt sander uses many of the same parts as a normal belt sander or and edge belt sander.
It has a base, motor, spindles, and belt that all provide the same functions. It also has a tracking belt that pushes the material through the machine, and under the sanding belts.
Our Timesavers
We purchased our Timesavers sander around the year 2000 and it has been in daily use ever since.
It is used to sand large and small quantities of material sanding anything from trim and moulding to paneling, furniture, or cabinet parts. We have used it on everything that requires flattening to sanding. It features an adjustment wheel and digital readout that allows its operator to make minute adjustments in sanding or material depth.
