Custom Finishing & Coatings
Choosing the finish that best suits a particular project can be overwhelming.
Your wood finish should accent and help define the overall look and feel of your cabinetry. Knowing what finish accomplishes that end goal requires experience.
With over 800 custom projects under our belt, our experience speaks for itself. But, choosing the best finish is only half the battle—it must be expertly executed.
It is not uncommon for us to use a multi-step and multi-layered finishing process to achieve the look and feel that is needed—and many times it’s necessary.
The expertise of our finishing department is unparalleled. After 35 years of finishing custom projects, our head finisher has no doubt applied it, sprayed it, brushed it, or wiped it. Using only the latest equipment and techniques, coupled with time-honored methods, you will not find a better finished product anywhere from anyone.
This is achieved using a host of different applications.
- painted finish
- natural finish
- single stain color
- multi-layered and multi-colored staining process for more depth
- paint or stain in combination with powder or color glazing
- antiqued finish with paint and stain
- distressed wood and paint/stain finish
- custom sheen of top coat from dead flat to high gloss
And how far are we willing to go to ensure the quality of our finish? The standard finished top coat we use is a commercial grade conversion varnish and is specifically blended for D.P. Juza by Sherwin-Williams. While it can be difficult to work with, conversion varnish is an extremely durable, longer lasting top coat finish than traditional finishes like lacquer.
D.P. Juza Woods & Fixtures can help choose the perfect finish to accent your piece.
